Busy Bunnies Nursery is a fast growing small nursery chain in Peterborough we are seeking a dynamic, fun, outgoing professional to join our team

For our Nursery Practitioner Role you will need to

  • contribute to the physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children placed under Your care
  • To give support to other personnel within the Nursery.
  • To implement the daily routine of the Nursery.

Key Areas of work will be

  • Working with children
  • Liaise with Parents
  • Responsible to the Team Leader in the first instance and ultimately to the Nursery Manager Duties and Responsibilities
  • To contribute to activities suitable to the age range of the children in your room.
  • To carry out of observations and assessments, keeping record of your key children’s achievements.
  • To work alongside parents to ensure the nursery is accessible to all children.
  • To support colleagues and engage in a good team work.
  • To attend all out of working hours activities e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parent meetings, nursery events etc.
  • To be flexible within your working practices ensuring good care of rooms rooms cleansing equipment alongside cleaning and tidying rooms.
  • To work alongside the manager and other staff team to ensure that the philosophies and policies and procedures of the Nursery are observed and fulfilled.
  • To assist the setting in keeping of proper records as required.
  • To help where help is required by colleagues and to be constantly aware of the needs of the children.
  • To respect the confidentiality of information received.
  • To ensure the provision of a high quality environment is met
  • to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development.

Specific Childcare tasks will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and completion of activities to suit the children’s stages of development;
  • Ensuring that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing;
  • Assisting in the washing and changing children as required;
  • Providing comfort to children.

NURSERY PRACTITIONER PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications:

  • Minimum NVQ 3 in Childcare
  • GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics or equivalent.

Experience:

1. previous experience in an early years setting in a similar role will be necessary in order to demonstrate the ability to fulfill the duties of the post.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good ICT skills.
  • Ability to work sensitively with parents/carers.
  • Commitment to the provision of a safe, happy, positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Calm and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to be flexible.
